People are arrested all the time, but it’s even more remarkable when professional athletes are caught by law enforcement. Baseball players can occasionally cause trouble themselves, even though it is a far more calm and more muted sport than football and hockey.

 

One of the more frequent charges against athletes is driving under the influence. However, even though these individuals are seen by kids as “role models,” they have occasionally been accused of abuse, trespassing, and even theft.

Steve Howe arrested

From the University of Michigan, Steve Howe was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 1979 Baseball Draft. He was hailed as a promising left-hander with a strong arm.

 

In addition to his heavy drug and alcohol usage, Howe was also arrested for DUI and subjected to seven suspensions due to his substance abuse problems.

Darryl Strawberry arrested

Alcohol and drug abuse plagued Strawberry for the majority of his career, and Major League Baseball suspended him multiple times as a result of his misdeeds.

 

After consuming painkillers on September 11, 2000, Strawberry attempted to travel to Tampa to meet with his probation officer.

 

He crashed into another automobile while driving while having a blackout, then attempted to escape. Following the incident, an off-duty police officer took him into custody with a gun.

Dwight Gooden arrested

Dwight Gooden was a baseball player who was incredibly skilled but unable to grasp it.

Gooden’s issues started after he was arrested after a conflict with the police in Tampa in December 1986.

 

He was arrested and accused of drunk driving on February 20, 2002, in Tampa. For operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and once more in January 2003.

Miguel Cabrera

Police in Fort Pierce, Florida, arrested Cabrera in February 2011 after discovering him by his smoking car on the side of the roadway. He was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and passively resisting arrest.

 

To “deal” with his problems, Cabrera did take a leave of absence from the squad.

 

Cabrera felt it was a joke at the time.
