most hated nba players

The NBA is one of the most popular leagues in America and fans have witnessed many great players over the years while some players, in particular, have built quite a reputation for themselves for all the wrong reasons and that will likely proceed even after their glory days in the NBA. Here are the 7 most hated NBA players you need to know.

  • Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant is widely known as one of the best players in the NBA but he was also once the most hated player in the league when he was part of the Golden State Warriors to get a few easy rings.

Despite being one of the best players on his squad, however, things didn’t go his way and his exchange demand in the offseason has certainly made him the most loathed player again.

Also, the reason why so many people hate him is probably that he often made an effort to defend himself and his judgment. He’s constantly whined about how he’s depicted. But then we know why so many hate on him and he probably gets that part too.

  • Lebron James

Lebron James is a household name when it comes to basketball. If you’re a fan of this sport, you also know that James is an attention-seeking whore, extremely passive-aggressive and he’s so petty. He is also considered an icon. James is also one of the greatest players to ever play the game. During the start of his career, it was evident the hate had a huge impact on him and now it looks like he doesn’t seem to care about it.

  • Kyrie Irving

The seven-time NBA All-Star is an exceptional player and it’s natural for people to dislike him and be envious of him because of his remarkable playing style. However, jealousy is also not the only reason for his hate. Irving is popularly known to be a selfish player on the court and is always about himself. And to top it off, he has a rotten attitude which makes it even more difficult for his teammates to play with him.

  • Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard is widely known as one of the most hated players in the NBA. However, it is also a well-known fact that Dwight’s accomplishments have earned him one of the most highly decorated players in the league, there’s no denying that he’s made a few errors in the media along the way but that did not stop him from becoming the player he is today.

The eight-time NBA All-Star has so far played with eight teams and is currently playing for the Taoyuan Leopards. Dwight was highly admired during the start of his career but things went downhill and now there’ll always be questions about his work ethic and devotion. Though he’s a monster athlete, he doesn’t care about winning, or being a questionable leader, nor does he care about leaving a legacy behind. But his achievements in his early career have already a mark on how great of a player he is.

  • Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler has built up a remarkable resume and it’s proof of why he’s the best player around. In his career, the small forward is already a six-time NBA All-Star, four-time All-NBA Third Team, five-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team, 2015 NBA Most Improved Player, and 2021 NBA steals leader. Though Butler is a supreme winner, his squads were terrified of his rather infamous stature and salty relationship with all three associations he used to play for.

The Miami Heat forward may be a ferocious competitor, who mandates definitive commitment from his squadmates.  While this propelled disposition is certainly required to triumph over a championship in this league, however, his high and mighty attitude and his rigid mentality pose a great threat to his team and the opponents.

  • Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony may have built an impressive resume in his career playing in the NBA but one thing he loves to do is play alone. He needs to get the fact that basketball is a team sport and not an individual-playing game. Anthony’s outstanding accolades include winning a ten-time NBA All-Star, two-time All-NBA Second Team, and a four-time All-NBA Third Team.

No matter what he does or doesn’t do, Anthony will always be a disunited figure. He performs his best when he’s playing alone but that’s how the game works and because of his selfish nature on and off the court, he’ll be known as one of the most hated players in the league.

  • Chris Paul

Chris Paul is hands-down by far one of the best guards in the game but his dirty playing style and his cocky personality are what make many people hate him. Moreover, you’ll often see him between plays walking around with his broad shoulders pulled back and chest out as if he owns the court and looks down on everyone.

The other negative thing about Paul is his fiercely competitive nature. His appetite to gain victory causes him to give his best and eventually forces him to break the regulations and rules to provide himself with an extra advantage. His passive-aggressive play style has also earned him more enemies than wins.
