By Born as Pablo Martín Páez Gavira on 5th August 2004 but popularly known as Gavi, is a Spanish pro footballer who plays as a central midfielder for La Liga club Barcelona and the Spanish national squad. The 18-year-old football star won the Golden Boy award in 2022 and was also the recipient of the Kopa Trophy, given by France Football during the 2022 Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The Spanish footballer was born in Los Palacios y Villafranca, Andalusia. He initially began his career at La Liara Balompié, a local club in his native place, where he played for about 2 years, between 2010 and 2012. Following this, he shifted to Real Betis’s youth academy, where he played for a total of two seasons. Gavi achieved 95 goals for the youth squad of Real Betis.
He achieved his initial senior goal on June 5, 2022, in the National League away in a match against the Czech Republic, and became the youngest footballer to ever achieve a score for Spain’s team at the senior level. The young player has already become a sensation mainly for his dribbling skills and accuracy when it comes to passing the ball. He was listed in Spain’s team for the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup, in which Gavi started in a total of four games. His score against Costa Rica in their first game of the event made him the third youngest footballer behind Brazil’s Pelé and Mexico’s Manuel Rosas to net a goal in a World Cup match.
