Who do you think will win the FIFA World Cup 2026? Is it gonna be Brazil or England? Perhaps, Spain? Here are the top 5 countries that could potentially win the 2026 FIFA World Cup!

The FIFA World Cup 2022 will be hosted in Canada, the USA, and Mexico. In every world cup, there always are “fan-favourite” teams, who are expected to win at any cost. These teams are generally the ones that showcase extraordinary form ahead of the match. Likewise, there are some ‘underdog teams’ every year, too.

In this article, we are going to talk about the top 5 countries that are predicted to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

1. Brazil

With a strong backbone to its team, Brazil will arguably be the favourite team in FIFA 2026. It’s got the unbeatable Alison Becker, Neymar, and up-and-coming phenom Vinícius Júnior. Brazil has won more world cup titles than any other country. However, when they had a brutal loss to Germany in 2014, 7-1, they were criticised by the fans.

Nonetheless, the team managed to come back with a bang. It had a great showing in the qualifiers. And, the team ended up in first place in the CONMEBOL Libertadores. Well, Brazil has got a strong squad and is a heavy favourite in Group G (-700). Their opening match against Serbia, where Richarlison scored two goals, goes to show that this team has got the purest of talents!

2. Germany

Germany kicked off the FIFA World Cup by playing Spain in the second game. It was indeed the rematch of the century! Germany vs. Spain was in November 2020. Spain pummeled team Germany 6-0. Not to mention, it was their greatest loss since 1931. In 2014, 6 years prior Germany won the World Cup title after maintaining 64 per cent possession. It was against the Messi-led team Argentina.

This, however, came all crashing down in 2018 when Germany attempted to defend its world cup title. But they couldn’t even make it past the group stage. Team Germany has had their fair share of ups and downs but it’s a strong team. Counting on playmaker Joshua Kimmich, Kai Havertz and Serge Gnabry, we can definitely expect Germany to be one of the winning teams in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

3. France

Going undefeated in the European Qualifiers and winning with ease, France is right next to Brazil and Germany, and with good reason. Team France has got a lot of young talent. But considering their history of returning defending champions, nothing concrete can be asserted. Kylian Mbappe helped the team win in the 2018 world cup. However, since then, their luck has failed. The team managed to score three goals in the first two games.

After beating Spain in the finals, France also won the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League. It stumbled briefly against Australia. Thus, conceding the first goal of the match. But then scored four unanswered goals. Consequently, they ended the match looking like a team without a care in the world. Mbappe and Giroud added two goals to the win.

4. Spain

The Spaniards are again one of the most loved world cup teams. Having won the title in 2010 with a 1-0 win over the Netherlands, they created a solid base. This team has had a solid Nations League showing this year. Despite losing to France in the finals, it qualified with ease.

However, Spain isn’t the same team that it was from 2008-12. No wonder it was the most inspiring and talented soccer team. It had some young Barcelona prospects establishing names for themselves in an international sense between Pedri, Gavi and Torres. We can definitely expect to see this team in the finals!

5. England

After its Nations League performance, England is on everyone’s radar. Facing two losses to Hungary, the team left US fans hopeful about capitalizing on England’s struggles in group play. Nonetheless, the team made it to the 2018 semifinals and Euro 2021 finals. Other star players of team England include Raheem Sterling and Declan Rice. England is among the top 5 countries that are anticipated to take the 2026 world cup title home!
