Youngest NHL teams

Established in North America, the National Hockey League (NHL) is a pro ice hockey league which consists of 32 squads in total.  25 squads in the US and 7 squads in Canada. The NFL is highly regarded as a prestigious professional ice hockey league on the planet. It is also amongst the four prominent pro sports in the US and Canada. The oldest cup in North America which is popularly known as the Stanley Cup is given out every year to the NFL’s playoff victor at the completion of every season. This league is also known as the fifth-richest pro sport league on the planet by income, behind the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the English Premier League (EPL).

Buffalo Sabres

If you are an ice hockey fan, you have probably heard of the Buffalo Sabres! This professional team is based in Buffalo, New York and has been a part of the National Hockey League (NHL) since 1970. They are part of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference, so they have got some fierce competition to contend with.

Over the years, the Sabres have had some incredible players on their roster, including the likes of Gilbert Perreault, Dominik Hasek and Thomas Vanek. These guys brought their ‘A game’ and helped make some memorable moments in the team’s history.

Despite all the talent that’s graced the Sabres’ ice, they have never managed to bring home the coveted Stanley Cup. The team has only made it to the Finals once, back in 1999. But don’t count them out just yet. With their determination and drive to win, who knows what the future may hold for this storied franchise.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Are you an Ice hockey fan in Columbus, Ohio? Then you are probably already familiar with the great Columbus Blue Jackets! This professional team joined the National Hockey League (NHL) as an expansion team in 2000 and they have been planning to keep going further and ahead. 

The Blue Jackets are part of the Central Division of the Western Conference which means that they have got some competition to fight with. But that hasn’t stopped them from making them play off several times in their history and they seem to be growing a lot.

Detroit Red Wings

The Detroit Red Wings is a professional ice hockey team from Michigan which joined the NHL in 1926 and have since then won an impressive 11 Stanley Cups. Their home games are played at Little Caesars Arena and they boast a roster of legendary players such as Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman and Pavel etc. 

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Devils is a professional ice hockey team based in Newark, New Jersey and is a member of the Metropolitan Division in the Eastern Conference of the NHL. Since their founding in 1974, the Devils have won three Stanley Cup championships in 1995, 2000 and 2003. Their home games are played at the Prudential Center where fans witnessed some of the greatest players in the league including Martin Brodeur, Scott Stevens and others. The team is very well known for their strong defensive play and they have had success under former head coach Jacques Lemaire. 

Anaheim Ducks 

The Anaheim Ducks are a powerhouse in professional ice hockey based in sunny Anaheim of California. They are a proud member of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference of the NHL. The team has given some of the greatest players of all time like Teemu, Paul, Ryan and others.
