best home run hitters

Who doesn’t love to watch baseball right? Basically, baseball is a very popular sport that almost everyone knows and falls in the category of the top ten “Most Popular Sports” in the world. In this sport, a home run is the single most effective way to enrapture a baseball stadium. Fans eagerly anticipate celebrating a ball that clears the fence whenever the strongest mashers walk to the plate.

Many players have achieved legendary status for their power-hitting abilities during the Major League Baseball era. We’re going back in time to look at the top ten moments of all time. So let’s take a look at some of the best home run hitters of all time listed down below!

6) Albert Pujols

Albert Pujols

Albert Pujols, the only active player in the top 10, has sent 617 baseballs over the fence in his 18-year career.

The St. Louis Cardinals didn’t choose the Dominican Republic powerhouse till the 13th round of the 1999 playoffs. When Pujols made his MLB debut two years later, he adapted quickly and started a run of 12 consecutive seasons with 30 or more home runs. He hit 37 home runs during that time.

In June 2017, Pujols hit his 600th career home run, launching his 600th career jack with a home run against the Minnesota Twins.

5) Ken Griffey Jr.

Ken Griffey Jr.

Ken Griffey Jr., who is best known for his signature backward hat, had a very clean swing that really was a pleasure to watch.

With the Seattle Mariners, Griffey made his professional debut in 1989 and even had the opportunity to share the field with a relative. Griffey and Ken Griffey Sr. hit back-to-back home runs on September 14, 1990, making them the first father-son team in MLB history to do so.

  1. Willie Mays

Willie Mays

Willie Mays, the “Say Hey Kid,” was the second-greatest power hitter of all time in his day, yet younger fans may only be familiar with him from reruns of his over-the-shoulder grab in the 1954 World Series.

Mays hit 518 home runs between 1954 and 1966, hitting an average of 40 per season. The outfielder, who spent the majority of his 22-year career with the New York/San Francisco Giants, reached 40 six times and sailed to 660.

  1. Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth had a remarkable 22-year career that started in the Dead Ball Era. He was the first historically great home run hitter.

Ruth finished his career with a record-setting 714 home runs, which stood for 39 years before being surpassed by the next player on this list.

  1. Hank Aaron

Hank Aaron

The Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves legend hit 20 or more home runs every season from 1955 through 1974, en route to a then-record 755 for his career. Then, throughout two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers, Aaron played his final 22 games.

Most amazingly, he never hit more than 47 shots in a calendar year even as he moved up the rankings. Aaron, however, gradually rose to the position of being the best baseball hitter of all time because of his tenacity and toughness.

1) Barry bonds

Barry bonds

With 332 home runs in his career, Bobby Bonds set a very high bar. Who would have imagined that his son, Barry Bonds, would increase it by twofold?

In addition, because he was such a feared batter, the younger Bonds became the all-time leader in intentional walks (688), single-season home runs (73), and career home runs (762).

Takeaway:

Arguably, the names mentioned above are the most suitable players we could think of to include in this list, and unless we have somehow missed out on another one or two players that may have deserved to be on this list there is no way that there are better home run hitters out there as what the aforementioned names accomplished.
