Stefanos Tsistsipas and Theodora Petalas dated for four years before officially splitting up in March 2023. The former couple first met in NYC in 2019, where their relationship began. Stefanos Tsitsipas and Theodora Petalas have ended their relationship, according to the show “Our Breakfast”.

Why did they break up?

Tsitsipas and his ex-partner parted ways because the relationship wasn’t going smoothly. They had to separate as their career kept them busy and traveling from one place to another.

“We have known each other for three years, through family friends. We first met in New York and I liked her very much, but I was shy then and did not express my feelings. But two years ago, again in New York, I asked her out on a date. I asked her to go to Brooklyn to snap some photos and I think she liked that. I did take some photos, which to this day are my favorites,” Stef had some in one of his media interactions.

While Theodora lives in London now, the couple had to endure long days and nights with Stef traveling worldwide for his Tennis tournaments.

“It’s a little difficult for us because she lives in London. But thankfully, it hasn’t brought us to extremes! She comes to some tournaments to support me so we can spend time together. She is my best friend! We have talked every day for two or three years now.

“I don’t think a day has gone by that we haven’t spoken, and our chemistry is very good. She also plays tennis, and when I play with her, it is my favorite moment on the court! It brings a huge smile to my face,” Stef added.

How did Stefanos Tsitsipas and Theodora Petalas meet?

Stef and Theodora met for the first time in New York City through family and friends (presumably while Petalas was studying there). In previous media interviews, Tsitsipas explained he liked Petalas from the moment he met her.

“I liked her very much, but I was shy then and did not express my feelings,” he said in 2021.

“But two years ago, again in New York, I asked her out on a date. I asked her to go to Brooklyn to snap some photos and I think she liked that. I did take some photos, which to this day are my favourites,” he added.

Their long-distance relationship

Petalas currently lives in London, and Stef had to travel because of his tournaments, resulting in a difficult time for the couple. However, despite the challenges, the couples managed to stay together, but then came a time when they just couldn’t. So, they officially ended their relationship in March 2023.

“It’s a little difficult for us, because she lives in London. But thankfully it hasn’t brought us to extremes. She comes to some tournaments to support me and so we can spend some time together. She is my best friend… We talk every day, for two or three years now,” Tsitsipas previously told the media.

He also added that Petalas plays tennis, too—naturally, a couple of hits on the court are given when they’re together.

“When I play with her, it is my favourite moment on the court,” he said, “It brings a huge smile to my face.”

Is Theodora Petalas on Instagram?

Theodora Petalas isn’t much of a public-facing person and doesn’t have an active instagram account. Last year, after he fell quickly at the US Open, the Greek tennis star also posted a picture of Petalas on Instagram in a carousel featuring several other people he holds dear.
