Lenz, 24, has been a regular for Frankfurt since joining the club from Hertha Berlin in 2020. He has made 57 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing six assists.

The left-back is seen as a potential replacement for Angelino, who left Leipzig for Manchester City last summer. Lenz is a versatile player who can also play as a right-back or wing-back.

He is a strong defender who is also good going forward. He is also known for his crossing ability.

If the transfer is completed, Lenz will become Leipzig’s third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Mohamed Simakan and Ilaix Moriba.

The German club are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the upcoming season, in which they will compete in the Champions League.

The transfer is still subject to negotiation, but it is expected to be completed in the coming days.
