Ted Williams was an American pro baseball left fielder who played his whole 19-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career for the Boston Red Sox from 1939 to 1960. Despite having a tumultuous career, his career was short-lived as he had to attend military duty due to WWII and the Korean war. Williams was famously known by his nicknames  “Teddy Ballgame”, “the Kid”, “the Splendid Splinter”, and “The Thumper”. During his playing career, he was a nineteen-time All-Star, two-time AL MVP, and a two-time Triple Crown to name a few of his accomplishments. To this day, Williams is highly considered one of the greatest players in MLB history and the final player to strike more than .400 in a season.
