Khéphren Thuram, an OGC Nice player since 2019, is in a pivotal stage of his career. He has effectively established himself as the Aiglons’ starter despite being only 22 years old, garnering fame and the interest of prominent European teams.
Thuram is now under contract until 2025, but L’Équipe reported on Tuesday that his future is still up in the air. OGC Nice is open to proposals starting at €50 million, but the issue is far from settled. Thuram may be moving at this pricing.
But as of right now, none of the clubs who are interested have demonstrated a willingness to pay the asking amount. This is good news for Francesco Farioli, the new Nice manager, who may put together a strong midfield three with Thuram, Boudaoui, and Bellegarde. As previously stated, the Aiglons view this pairing as a priority.
However, it is still early in July, and the chain reaction of transfers has not yet started. Thuram has drawn interest from Borussia Dortmund, but they feel the asking price is too excessive. Liverpool has acknowledged his abilities as well. Newcastle initially considered it but finally opted to spend money on Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali.
Thuram is still a target for Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel to add to his roster. The young midfielder is intrigued by the possibility of competing in a European tournament, something OGC Nice cannot provide. Thuram is aware that the trip ahead is still lengthy, but he is unwilling to get into a fight to quit his present club. Nice may continue to try to keep him, but the weeks until the summer transfer window closes on September 1st will be anxiously awaited.
