After the recent signings of Luis Enrique, Lucas Hernandez, Manuel Ugarte, Milan Skriniar, and Marco Asensio, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is now in search of their next recruit. The club is specifically targeting a number 9 striker, but they may encounter difficulties due to UEFA regulations regarding locally trained players in the Champions League.
PSG, known for its strong youth academy, is facing challenges in meeting these requirements, as reported by L’Équipe. However, according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã, PSG’s next signing might not be a French player, but rather a Portuguese one.
The club is reportedly preparing a significant offer of €80 million for Gonçalo Ramos, the striker from Benfica Lisbon. This potential move raises questions for PSG, led by German coach Roger Schmidt.
Schmidt, who values Ramos’ abilities, wants to retain the 20-year-old international player who has already made seven appearances for Portugal, scoring four goals. Ramos had an impressive season with 27 goals in 44 games, attracting the attention of several top European clubs, including Manchester United and Real Madrid. However, Ramos has a high release clause of €120 million, making negotiations challenging.
In addition to Ramos, PSG is reportedly in discussions with another non-French striker, Dusan Vlahovic, as revealed by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano. Although Vlahovic is not the primary target for the Parisian club, he is only being pursued by the French champions in Ligue 1. The 23-year-old Serbian forward, formerly with Fiorentina, is not part of Chelsea’s plans.
