Rashan Gary, an edge rusher for the Packers, hasn’t practiced this offseason since he’s still healing from the ruptured ACL that interrupted his 2022 season, and he’s not forecasting when he’ll be able to return to the field.
During a press conference during the minicamp this week, Gary was questioned about his timetable and responded, “I’ll be ready when I’ll be ready.” In order to be secure in his health when it is time to resume his duties, he said, he is focused on making sure he follows all the necessary steps and checks all the necessary boxes.
According to Gary, as quoted by Steve Megaree of the Associated Press, “One thing I told myself is that throughout this process, I’m taking it day by day. I’m just making sure I’m squeezing the towel as much as I can every day, making sure I’m not leaving not one inch of doubt of if I pushed it to my all, so that’s all, man. Just going 100 per cent day by day and we’ll see where I’ll be.”
Gary got six sacks in nine games last season and has 20.5 over the previous three seasons, so whenever it is possible, his return to the defence will be a positive development.
