Kingsley Coman

Manchester City have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Kingsley Coman, with Bayern Munich rebuffing their latest offer for the French winger.

City had been hoping to sign Coman as a replacement for Raheem Sterling, who is set to join Chelsea in a £50m deal. However, Bayern have made it clear that they are not willing to sell Coman, who is under contract with the club until 2023.

Coman is a highly sought-after player, and he is also being courted by Barcelona and Juventus. However, he is said to be keen on a move to City, where he would be reunited with his former Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola.

City are not giving up on their pursuit of Coman, but they may have to up their offer if they are to convince Bayern to sell. In the meantime, they are looking at other options, including Rennes winger Jérémy Doku and Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Doku is a highly rated young player who has been in impressive form for Rennes in recent seasons. He is said to be valued at around €35m, which would make him the most expensive signing in Rennes’ history.

Hudson-Odoi is another talented young winger who is available for transfer. He has an agreement in principle with Chelsea to leave the club, but the two clubs are still haggling over the transfer fee.

City are likely to make a decision on their next move for a winger in the next few weeks. They will need to act quickly if they want to secure their top targets, as the transfer window is closing on August 31st.
