One of the candidates for the position of new head coach of Leeds United is Patrick Vieira.
This week’s scheduled interviews include a meeting between Daniel Farke, the former manager of Norwich, and the Elland Road administration.
Carlos Corberan, the manager of West Brom, has also been mentioned in connection with the position, although no contact has yet been made because of his contract with West Brom.
After three seasons in the Premier League, Leeds is back in the Championship and without a manager. On June 2, Sam Allardyce resigned from his job after failing to prevent the team from being demoted.
Before taking over for Javi Gracia, Allardyce had not managed since 2021. He was given four games to keep Leeds in the league, but he failed, losing three and drawing one.
The team said that a new head coach “will be made in the coming weeks” after Allardyce’s resignation.
Despite investing more than £140 million on Jesse Marsch over the last two transfer windows when the team was ranked 17th, Leeds had already fired him in February.
After that, former Watford manager Gracia was hired on a “flexible” contract and only lasted 11 league games, winning three of them, before the club’s leadership once more intervened with Leeds barely remaining above the relegation zone on goal differential.
Allardyce took over to attempt to keep Leeds in the division, but he was unable to salvage the situation in a difficult stretch of games against Manchester City, Newcastle, West Ham, and Tottenham.
