Kevin Huber, a stalwart punter for the Cincinnati Bengals, announced his retirement on Friday morning, after a 14-year career. Huber, who was chosen in the fifth round in the 2009 draught, played his whole career for the Bengals.

Up until about halfway through the previous season, Huber had been the team’s dependable punter since his freshman year. Drue Chrisman was chosen by the Bengals to take his spot. Huber averaged 43.2 yards on each punt and 37.4 net yards in the season’s first nine games. Chrisman takes over and has averaged 42.6 net yards and 47.8 punt yards over the previous seven games.

Huber re-signed with the Bengals and joined their practice squad despite getting cut in the first week of December. Huber posted a sincere comment on social media about his career and how being selected as the team’s punter in 2009 changed his life. He praised his teammates, coaches, front office, and staff for their support and devotion and expressed his thanks for the chance to be a part of the Bengals organisation.

Huber, who participated in 216 games for Cincinnati, has behind a lasting legacy. He consistently averaged 45.3 yards per punt and 40.2 net yards throughout his career. Additionally, 34.2 per cent of his punts were downed within the 20-yard line with success. Huber promised to stay involved in the Bengals community even after retiring and expressed his gratitude for the ongoing passion and support of the Bengals supporters.

Huber’s retirement ushers in a new era for the Bengals as he concludes this chapter of his life. His dependability, talent, and commitment to his trade have had a profound effect on the squad and its supporters.
