By Following the FBI’s announcement of his arrest on Monday, Xaviar Babudar, also known as the Chiefsaholic, was captured on Friday in Lincoln, California. In federal court, the 28-year-old Babudar is currently charged with one count of bank theft and one count of moving stolen items over state lines. The federal district court in Kansas City received the criminal complaint.
Babudar rose to fame as a devoted Chiefs superfan who frequently attended games dressed as a wolf. But ever since missing a planned court appointment in March, he has been eluding law enforcement. He was thus listed as one of the top five people to avoid by the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers last month.
Following Babudar’s prior participation in a robbery case, he was recently arrested. He was taken into custody in December on suspicion of robbing the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union in Bixby, Oklahoma. In February, he was subsequently freed on bail.
But around six weeks later, Babudar is said to have taken an ankle monitor off, which was eventually found in a field close to a Tulsa mall. Then, after missing his court appearance, he was not present for his arraignment hearing, which resulted in the issue of a $1 million warrant.
An important milestone in the continuing legal actions against Xaviar Babudar is his detention. Now that he is accused of stealing from banks and moving stolen goods over state borders, he will have to answer to accusations in court.
His time as a fugitive, during which he avoided law enforcement for several months, comes to an end with his capture. The legal process will continue as the case develops in the U.S. District Court, revealing more information about the particulars and supporting documentation of Babudar’s alleged offences.
