According to Christian Falk, BVB has identified Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher as a possibly qualified candidate who provides a comparable level of positional versatility. The Englishman was primarily relegated to bench appearances, however, he was acknowledged and utilised to a larger extent towards the conclusion of the 2022–23 season.
