Midfielder Tom Davies, aged 24, will be parting ways with Everton as his current contract comes to an end this month. Despite being with the club since the age of 11 and making his debut as a 17-year-old, Davies has declined the offer of a new deal.

Notably, he made history as Everton’s youngest captain at the age of 20 years and 60 days and showcased his leadership skills by captaining England at various youth levels.

During his tenure at his beloved boyhood club, Tom Davies made an impressive 179 appearances, finding the back of the net seven times.

“We offered Tom a new contract, but he feels he has reached the stage in his career where he needs regular first-team football and, as a result, he wants to look at alternative options away from Everton,” said Kevin Thelwell, the Director of Football at Everton.

“On behalf of Everton in the Community, I want to thank Tom for his tireless efforts and commitment to our charity. He has always been unwavering in his support and was a fantastic ambassador for the Club, which included doing charitable work of his own accord around this city he loves so much. We thank him for everything he has done for us,” said Sue Gregory, Chief Executive of Everton.

“I love the club and the city but ultimately, I want to play games, whether that be at Everton or somewhere else. If I am not going to get that here, it’s something I’m going to have to think about,” said Tom Davies reportedly to The Athletic.
